Immodestly stated, the founders "wrote the book" on public-private partnerships within the bio-science domain. They were responsible for the 1997 embryogenesis of the Department of Defense - Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), the preeminent actor in this space, and constituted the TATRC executive team during its first ten years. During their tenure, that organization grew to manage a federal investment in the realm of $ 0.5 Billion per annum. This team has since left government service to pursue interests in the private sector.
